Walgreens Coupon Policy Changes

Wag cpn update
If you’re a Walgreens shopper, you are going to want to take a good look at their latest Coupon Policy changes.  Unfortunately, they are not in our favor. 🙁

Here are the two biggest changes to note:

  • No more adjusting a coupon down.  (So if the item is on sale for 99¢, you can no longer use a $1 off coupon.)
  • No longer allowing a coupon to be used on the Free item of a BOGO sale. (So while before you could use a coupon on both items, you now can only use a single coupon.)

There are a couple more changes and a few examples and clarifications to guide you.  It’s always a good idea to familiarize yourself with these coupon policies and even keep a copy in your coupon binder.  I keep one for every store I shop and have referred to it many times.  It comes in most handy when I come across a cashier that isn’t aware of what the store coupon policy is.

  1. thanks for the info on walgreens increasing anti consumer moves. until last month on their senior day; seniors could get (only if they ask for it) a 20% discount on all (some listed exceptions like dairy, etc) walgreens products and 15% off all other products- even if on sale. last month it was only applicable to non- sale items. this weeks senior sale now states: “Offer only valid Tuesday, June 3, 2014 with Balance Rewards card. Must be 55 years of age or older. Proof of age may be required. Offer available to all AARP members with valid AARP card. Valid in Walgreens and Duane Reade stores on select “Seniors Days.” All regular-price merchandise receives a 20% discount. ”

I stopped using “ANTI CONSUMER”, “ANTI VETERAN” walgreens several months ago. I can get my meds $50 cheaper at a local pharmacy and the $$$ stays in the local area. I can see a day when big anti-consumer chains are run out of town. I know they will never get my business again. 1 last thing the pharmacist at walgreens in meridian Mississippi in Broadmoor hills is RUDE, SNOBBY and is costing walgreens a LOT of customers. Keep up the good work lady maybe they (walgreens) will leave town!!

Just so you guys know. I read in the Idiots guide to couponing that the membership club stores offer the best price on prescriptions. You might want to compare.

    • I’ve heard the same, but it was on the news one night. And you don’t need a membership to get the prescription either. Until that point, I never even would have thought about it, but it’s great information to know!
