Well, we covered Summer Movie Programs…now it’s time to talk about some Summer Reading Programs for the kiddos — click the name of the program for more details:

TD Bank Summer Reading Program
Kids in grades K through 5 can read 10 books and keep track of it on the provided form and then take it to their local TD Bank where $10 will be deposited into their Young Saver account!  (If they don’t currently have one, they can sign up for one.)

Barnes & Noble Summer Reading
Kids in Grades 1 through 6 can read 8 books and record them in the Reading Journal.  Once they complete the journal, they can bring it into their local Barnes & Noble store and Choose a FREE book from their selection!

Sylvan Book Adventure
Students in Grades K through 8 can search for qualifying books in the program, read them, then come back to quiz on them to earn points which they can redeem for prizes in the Prize Library.

Half Price Books Feed Your Brain Summer Reading Program
Kids ages 14 and under can commit to reading for at least 15 minutes each day in the months of June and July to earn $5 in Half Price Books Bookworm Bucks.

Family Christian Bookstore
Kids can read any six Christian books and explain one of the faith messages from each book in their Reading Adventures Diary. Then they can bring their completed diary to a Family Christian store between June 3rd and August 25th to get a FREE book!  (If you don’t have one located near you, you can email it in and get the book via mail.)

Often local libraries also host programs, so make sure you check with them to see what they have to offer!  It’s a great way to keep your child motivated to read during the summer!
